Lab Digital Industry
Vision and Objectives
The laboratory of digital Industry of the Foundation research organization GTechnology addresses the complex and articulated range of organizational and logistical problems of production companies and services and addresses issues of identification and evaluation of risks with design, experimentation and implementation of innovative models for the management of safety at work.
The global and integrated approach to problems develops on two levels:
- Level 1: Process analysis or Business process reengineering (BPR), an overall vision of the company’s operation and interactions between the various business functions.
- Level 2: Deepening of individual key aspects or areas of intervention with decision support tools such as simulation, statistical analysis to support the evaluation of process efficiency and optimization algorithms.
The laboratory in the field of security has carried out numerous sectoral analyses, it is the promoter of methods for the reduction of accidents and occupational diseases based on various techniques, for example FMEA and Behaviour based safety (BBS). The technical aspects of safety, from equipment to fully manual work, are analyzed through innovative methods. For example, simulation techniques are used to analyze repetitive movements and to program the load of workstations, to evaluate the parameters of manual handling of loads for the management of work shifts, to simulations of events such as Fires or earthquakes to verify the efficiency of emergency management. It is now recognized by many employers that changing the behavior of staff towards a safer way of working is very complex. The BBS allows the analysis of behavioral phenomenology likely to cause safe behavior or not, is able to measure and, based on objective data, to stimulate the correct behavior of workers, through a series of specifications Stimulating stresses of a previous and consequent type. Among the various activities carried out by the group during these years we have: the development of simplified models for risk assessment and for the safety management systems at work (SGSL, OHSAS 18001, UNI INAIL), the definition of guidelines; Support Tools for safety management, responding both to regulatory requirements, and to aspects of efficiency and risk reduction; The preparation of simplified cards and checklist for compiling the DVR, POS, PSC, DUVRI.
